Chanter Guide & Build (Aion 2)

Weapon: staff and guard · Role: support: party buffs and backup healing

Everything for the Chanter from level 1 to the endgame: what to level, how to set up your skill bar, how to buff and heal your party, gear, your first dungeon and a plan for after 45. The Chanter fights up close with a staff and at the same time gives the whole group more damage and speed. Collected from several guides and from players. Where sources disagree, I say so openly.

12

Set your level and you will see below what to do right now. The page remembers it in this browser.

Skill points

  • Daevanion: Dark Crush → Onslaught → Spinning Strike → Incandescent Blow (Daevanion tab)
  • 13: Attack Preparation, as far as the game allows (further levels come with character level)

Watch out / what to do

  • Don't click “Acquire All Nodes”
  • From 13: Sealed Dungeons give crystals and points

Next milestone: level 14

  • Spinning Strike, your strongest hit and a Dark Crush opener

Where to put your next point

Enter your skill levels from the in-game skill window. The page calculates for the character level set above and remembers your entries in this browser.

Skill bar for level 12

Arrange your skills like this in the skill window. Row 0 is the row right at the bar and has the highest priority. A filler with no cooldown always goes at the top of its column (Lipej).

KeyRow 0Row 1Row 2Row 3How to use
LMB
Onslaught
only one slot here. Weave it in all the time, it restores mana
RMB
Impactful Crush
Dark Crush
Spinning Strike from 14
Incandescent Blow
Crush line: hold it; from 22 via the macro (10 ms)
Q
Rushing Smash
dash; at 12 it resets on kill
E
Marchutan's Wrath from 37
Wave Blownew
Heat Wave Blow
for gaps when the Crush line has nothing ready. Wave Blow only on a stunned target
1
Recuperationnew
heals the party and removes a debuff
2
Tremor Crushnew
dash after a dodge
3
Defiance from 16

5
Undefeated Mantra from 22
turn on once and leave it

Change at 12: On E in row 1 you add Wave Blow.

Next change at 14: On RMB in row 2 you add Spinning Strike.

Gust Rampage stays off the bar, because it only works on a boss in Stagger. If you like, put it on free slot 4 or 8 and use it only on bosses.

Rules that never change

  • Dark Crush, Onslaught and Spinning Strike are your core, and Undefeated Mantra is your first Stigma. All sources agree.
  • Press Dark Crush every time it lights up. You have 2–3 seconds. Most of your other skills are there to “open” it (couga54, aLuckyRO, Wakayashi, Fextralife).
  • Turn mantras on once and leave them. They are toggles: pressing them again turns them off. Never put them in a macro or a skill line (couga54, Wakayashi, ExpCarry).
  • Weave Onslaught in between everything. Every hit restores 100 MP, and without it you run out of mana fast (couga54, aLuckyRO).
  • Skill points raise skills only up to 10. Beyond that you use the Daevanion board (+4), rings and Arcana cards. Levels 12, 16 and 20 matter most (new specialization). Before 45 you will realistically reach ~14, so Dark Crush keeps its 5 s cooldown for the whole leveling phase (couga54, aLuckyRO). Some skill levels only unlock at a given character level. The requirement is shown on the skill (allthings.how, notXeon).
