Aion 2 Daevanion Board Guide for Beginners

Daevanion is a set of boards whose nodes you buy with Daevanion crystals. The first board (Nezekan) opens at level 12, the next ones at 20, 30, 40 and 45. Early on, take the blue nodes of your key skills and skip the Acquire All Nodes button, because it also buys nodes you do not need.

What is Daevanion and why should you care?

Daevanion is a permanent progression system. You get several boards full of nodes. You buy each node with Daevanion crystals (Daevanion Crystal in game, i.e. Daevanion points). Nodes give stats or +1 skill level.

Why it matters from day one:

  • Skill points only take a skill to level 10. Beyond that, skills are raised by Daevanion, Arcana cards and gear (Grobs). Every active skill has one node on each of the first four boards. Passives are spread differently: your first five have two nodes each on Nezekan, the other five have two each on Zikel, and Vaizel and Triniel have one per passive. Either way it adds up to +4 to every skill, so 10 becomes 14 (Grobs, MetaBot, our board data).
  • Skill levels 8, 12, 16 and 20 unlock specializations that change how a skill works. The board helps you reach those breakpoints on your key skills.
  • Every point you spend is +1 item level (Game8, Aragon, Marcus). After 45 it is the cheapest item level in the game, so spend crystals right away.

Which boards are there and when do they open?

BoardLevelWhat it givesCost of the full board
Nezekan12skills + stats; orange nodes: Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction134
Zikel20skills + stats; orange: Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance134
Vaizel30skills + stats; orange: Critical Damage and its tolerance134
Triniel40skills + stats; orange: Multi-Hit and Multi-Hit resist168
Azphel45PvP stats only (no skills)232 (separate currency)

Unlock levels and costs: MetaBot (global client data) and our board data (couga54/questlog) agree. Orange nodes: RedCloud and MetaBot.

The first four boards share one point pool (MetaBot, Grobs). A crystal spent on Nezekan is gone for Zikel. Azphel uses its own Abyss currency, so it never takes points from the PvE boards.

The global version has no Ariel board (PvE), and no Marchutan or Yustiel either. If a video shows 6 or 8 boards, it was recorded in Korea or Taiwan. Global has 5 boards (MetaBot, couga54).

What do the node colors mean and what do they cost?

ColorWhat it givesCost
grey (white)a small stat: attack, crit, HP, defense1
green+1 level to a passive skill2
blue+1 level to an active skill3
orangethe board's headline bonus, a percentage (MetaBot: +1.5% per node)4

FRESHY, RedCloud and MetaBot give the same costs, and so does our board data for every class.

How movement works:

  • You start from the node in the middle (the start is free).
  • You can only buy a node connected to one you already own. Links run in four directions: up, down, left, right (that is how the edges look in the board data).
  • The road to a good node often passes through weak ones. You have to buy them to get through.

What should you take first?

Sources disagree, so it depends on your class:

  • Blue nodes of your key skills first. RedCloud, couga54 and Fextralife recommend this for most classes. Higher skill level means more damage right away and earlier specializations.
  • Important orange nodes first. FRESHY: "don't blindly take blue first". On Nezekan, Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction are strong enough that some classes go for them immediately. Our Ranger, Sorcerer and Cleric routes do this, because most sources for those classes say so.
  • Green passives later. RedCloud rates them least important early on.
  • Grey nodes last. They are cheap, and many small stats add up over time (FRESHY).

The exact order for your class is in the Daevanion tab of its guide, e.g. Templar or Ranger.

Where do Daevanion crystals come from?

SourceHow manyWho says so
character levels (main story)136 in total by level 45MetaBot
Sealed Dungeons ("?" on the map)2 each; 61 per factionMetaBot, Grobs, RedCloud, couga54
Regional quests (Journal → Regional)1 per quest; 58 per factionMetaBot (RedCloud also saw 3 for one chain)
Shugo Festival shopup to ~50, price goes up in stepsGrobs, couga54, Marcus
Nightmare shop800 currency each, up to 10couga54

Two things worth knowing:

  • Sources disagree on when to do Sealed Dungeons. Game8 and many players clear them on the way; space4games and aLuckyRO save them for 45 because the rewards scale with level. You get the crystals either way. Question marks on the enemy map (through a rift) give no crystals, only enhancement stones and AP (couga54, Marcus).
  • Crystals from dungeons and quests are bound to the character. You cannot pass them to an alt.

Acquire All Nodes: should you click it?

The board has an Acquire All Nodes button. It buys the whole board at once, including nodes that do nothing for you. On Nezekan that is 134 crystals. A route through the nodes you actually need costs roughly half (67 for Templar).

Before 45 you are always short on crystals, so do not click it. After 45, once you have enough for everything, it is a handy shortcut. You can buy everything and then remove the least useful nodes if you need a point elsewhere. Korean players describe this trick.

Resetting: can you fix a mistake?

Yes. You can remove a node and get the point back. FRESHY recommends using this: buy a weak connector node, reach the good one, then check whether the connector can be removed.

Resetting costs Kinah. On Korean servers it is 500 Kinah per node (Inven, exitlag). On global, couga54 and Allyria only say resets are cheap. aLuckyRO quoted 24,000 Kinah in his Cleric guide (2 Oct), without saying for how many nodes. The confirmation window shows the real price.

Skill points (the ones up to 10) are reset separately. Stigmas have their own reset too: Aion 2 stigma guide.

How to read our routes on the class pages

Every class guide has a Daevanion tab with a clickable board:

  1. The gold path is the route we recommend. It goes from the center to the class's key skills (in the order the guides give), then to orange nodes, then the rest of the nodes on the path.
  2. The Next button walks through the nodes one by one. The arrow always starts from a node you already own.
  3. Click a node to see what it gives.
  4. Above the board you see the cost of the gold path and of the full board (Acquire All Nodes), so the difference is visible.
  5. Below the board there is a class note: what to skip and where sources disagree.

Azphel (PvP) has no route on our pages. In PvE you keep filling the first four boards.

Quick answers

Is the board the same for every class? The layout is. The skill names on blue and green nodes differ.

Should I save crystals? No. Every crystal spent is +1 item level and stats right away.

How high can a skill go? To 14 from skill points and Daevanion. Levels 16 and 20 come from Arcana cards and gear after 45. More in What to do after 45 and Gear progression.
