Privacy policy

In short

• No cookies, analytics, ads, accounts or forms. We do not know your name or e-mail address (unless you write to us yourself).
• Server logs: IP address with the last part cut off, time, page address, browser — deleted after 14 days.
• "Check your character": region, server and character name are sent to NCSOFT's public service; we keep the result only in the server's RAM for up to 5 minutes.
• Page settings (character level, ticked items, language) stay in your browser and never reach us.

What data, why, and on what legal basis

1. Server logs (every visit)

For every request, the web server records:

• the IP address with the last part masked — in IPv4 the last number is replaced with 0, in IPv6 the last 80 bits are cut off (we do not store the full address),
• the date and time,
• the address of the requested page — the path only, without query parameters (so the region, server and character name you type into "Check your character" do not end up in the log); we do not record the address of the page the request came from,
• the browser and system (the so-called user agent), the server response code and the response size.

Why: security and operation of the site — detecting attacks and abuse, finding errors. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest: a secure and working site). How long: 14 days, then the logs are deleted automatically.

2. The "Check your character" tool

You enter the region, server and name of a game character. Our server sends a query to NCSOFT's public service (aion2.plaync.com, api-search.plaync.com) and shows you the result. The character data comes from the public character profile run by NCSOFT — we do not create our own profiles or rankings.

• We keep the result only in the server's RAM, for up to 5 minutes (so we do not ask NCSOFT the same thing again; a "not found" answer for up to 10 minutes) — no database and no writing to disk.
• Slot details: when you click "Show slot details", our server fetches the data of that one item from NCSOFT (manastones, Theostone, soul binding). For this it uses NCSOFT's internal character identifier, which it keeps in RAM together with the result for up to 5 minutes; slot details are also kept for up to 5 minutes, never written to disk.
• Share link ("Copy link", "Copy summary for Discord") is created by your browser and contains the region, server and character name. We do not store it; whoever opens it sends an ordinary query to the tool.
• Character names are not written to any log: neither by the tool itself nor by the web server (the logs record only the page path, without parameters — point 1).
• Limit: 10 queries per minute from one IP address. To count the limit, the IP address is held only in the server's RAM (a counter for the last minute) and is not stored anywhere.
• The query to NCSOFT is sent by our server — your IP address does not reach NCSOFT.

A character name (a pseudonym) can be personal data. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the service you ask for), and when you check another player's character — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our and your legitimate interest in viewing publicly available character data). Giving a character name is voluntary, but the tool will not work without it.

3. Browser storage (localStorage — this is not cookies)

The pages remember on your device: your character level, the last tab and board, ticked plan steps and daily/weekly list items, skill levels in the points tool, the language you chose, and the last region and server chosen in "Check your character" (without the character name). This data stays only in your browser and is never sent to our server.

This storage is strictly necessary for the feature you ask for (so that the page remembers your settings), so it does not require consent (Art. 399(3) of the Polish Electronic Communications Law (Prawo komunikacji elektronicznej), implementing Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC). You can delete it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings (the daily/weekly list also with the "Clear" button).

4. E-mail messages

If you write to us, we process your e-mail address and the content of your message to reply and handle the matter (for example a complaint). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering your message). How long: until the matter is settled, and after that as long as needed to defend against possible claims related to it.

No cookies, analytics or ads

We do not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels or third-party scripts. Fonts and icons load from our own server (no Google Fonts). We do not profile you and we do not make automated decisions about you.

Recipients of data

• OVH (OVHcloud) — provider of the VPS server in the European Union (Gravelines, France). It processes data on our behalf as a processor, only to the extent needed to maintain the server.
• NCSOFT — only when you use "Check your character": NCSOFT receives a query with the region, server and character name. This is an external NCSOFT service; how NCSOFT handles queries to its service is set by NCSOFT's own rules.

We do not sell data and do not share it with anyone else. Our server is in the European Union and we do not transfer data outside the European Economic Area; the only exception is the tool's query to NCSOFT's external service described above.

How long we keep data

Your rights

You have the right to:

• access your data and get a copy (Art. 15 GDPR),
• rectification of data (Art. 16),
• erasure of data (Art. 17),
• restriction of processing (Art. 18),
• object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21).

Write to kontakt@daevaguides.com. Logs have a shortened IP address, so it is usually not possible to identify a specific person in them. If you want to use your rights regarding logs, give the approximate time of your visit and the pages you visited; without such details we may not be able to identify you (Art. 11 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland, or with the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Changes to this policy

When the way the site works or the law changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. This version applies from 6 October 2026.
